SERVICES

Prudential Trustees, Ltd. provides comprehensive and exclusive services to its clients. As stated elsewhere in this site, not everyone gets to be a Prudential client. Only those who are first vetted by our associated legal firm in Nassau, American Barristers, PA, Ltd. are permitted to become clients of Prudential.

Since Prudential is a "Private Trustee Company", every client is in fact a sub-trust, settled for the use of some "person." That "person" may be an individual, a married couple, a partnership, a corporation, an LLC or even a foundation. Since a private trustee company cannot provide services directly to such persons, it is necessary that a sub-trust be created to serve in the nominal role of client.

Typically, this trust is a part of a more comprehensive offshore structure which implements a financial strategy for the person involved. If you, as a reader on this site determine that you want to be such a person, then American Barristers, PA, Ltd. will work with you and your current attorneys and accountants if appropriate, to design a strategy that meets your needs. While you will not legally own the assets that become resident in the trust, your role as the Protector (or the person who designates the Protector) will ensure that the assets are held, managed and distributed in accord with your wishes.

Trust services represent much of Prudential's work. The company is the Trustee not only of a huge international Master Trust, but also acts as Trustee for each sub-trust. These international trusts are known as discretionary trusts because the Trustee has the broadest discretion as to how to hold, manage and distribute the trust estate. That discretion is restrained only by the Protector (you) who holds the power to veto any proposed action and to require consent for any transaction by the Trustee.

The role of Trustee is an important fiduciary function. Great care is taken to keep careful records or each transaction and to account for every penny of assets and expenditures. Prudential maintains its accounts and records on the same standards as are required of licensed banks.

In addition to its role as pure Trustee, Prudential is frequently called upon to provide management services for IBCs, LLCs, foundations, limited partnerships and other entities which are owned in whole or in part by one or more trusts. In some cases, the Trustee may find it more efficient to retain the services of a separate management company and to oversee that company's actions.

Other services that are routinely handled by Prudential include the establishment of virtual offices for clients, Protectors and the companies and other entities they control. Prudential has an outstanding foreign brokerage program whereby a brokerage account can be opened either in a tax haven jurisdiction or in a high tax country such as the U.S. This program permits funds to be invested in U.S. securities completely tax free. It is a popular program for obvious reasons.
